SPEKTRA Paints Bring Colour and Community Art to Life in Delft’s Global Mural Project
SPEKTRA, one of the leading brands in high-performance architectural coatings, proudly supported the creation of a monumental mural in Delft, the Netherlands, as part of the “Over the Wall” World Mural Project.
Led by renowned Japanese artist Kensuke Miyazaki, the initiative celebrates 425 years of friendship between Japan and the Netherlands. Delft – a city with deep historical ties to Japan’s ceramic capital Arita and a vibrant, multicultural spirit – was chosen as the symbolic place where cultures and colours meet.

Since its launch in 2013, the Over the Wall initiative has created one mural each year, bringing colour and connection to communities across the globe – from Kenya and East Timor, through Ecuador, Haiti, and Pakistan, to Ukraine and beyond. With the Delft mural, the project found its first canvas in Western Europe, continuing its mission to unite people through art.
The Delft mural was brought to life using high-quality SPEKTRA façade paints. Known for blending technical excellence and creative vision, SPEKTRA paints helped bring the artist’s vision to life – transforming a wall into a vibrant expression of creativity and collaboration. This collaboration reflects our belief that colour can shape not only spaces, but also relationships between people.
Miyazaki, celebrated for his joyful murals in hospitals, schools, and public spaces around the world, led the creative process in Delft – inspiring collaboration and showing how art and colour can bring communities closer together.
